The name is Jeremiah Small. I recently started living life to the fullest. I just woke up to this world all around me. I'm waiting for the rest of the world to find them selves awake as well. Until then, I'll be around. Trying to find a better way to explain, this peace I've found.

  • A quick synopsis of my thoughts on society.

It’s crazy how the more you realize your own insignificance, the more you feel the significance of this big body of life we are all apart of.  It’s funny to me how we do this on a much smaller scale.  Examples perhaps?:  A die-hard sports fanatic puts on face paint to become a part of the collective; a part of all the others who cheer for the game.  A faithful disciple of religion finds meaning in the community of congregation, as a part of all those who come together to glorify their chosen God with praise and admiration.  A political activist joins with a group of people with a common dissatisfaction, knowing that together there is more impact than alone.  We are raised to find a social click.  So with our desire to unify an obvious fact of human nature; why is unification of humanity, oneness, considered unrealistic?  Improbable?  If your answer for improbability is in the selfish nature of humans, I ask that you ponder on this:

All of history is pointing toward the inevitable outcome of continuity.  Every war ends in peace, and creates reform.  As a species we have traveled though many worldviews, some give them the names Mythic, Mystic, Rational, and Modern(A very liberal interpretation).  The Mythic worldview dates back beyond consistent methods of written communication(roughly 10,000 BCE) to the earliest Eastern Religions, Egyptian and Greek Mythology.  It contains the belief in God or gods as a source of creation of life, and authority over humanity.  All of these contained belief in brotherhood, and morals that are existent in society today.  At the break of the common era, we see the unraveling of the Mystic worldview.  It is the belief not so much in an identified God or gods, but of the connection of humanity to a supreme(and sometimes unidentified) being. All major world religions have had a mystic concept.  Interestingly enough, this time period also brings about the belief of a brotherhood that extends to all beings.  We see it in the teachings of Jesus, Plato(In view of Socrates), Buddha, Confucius etc..  In the late 1600’s we see what has been called “The Enlightenment” emerge.  The realization that we can live by ancient moral codes, without their ancient traditions.  God becomes separated into parts:  Science, Art and Moral.  It contains the birth of Democracy and the idea of equality among men, what Americas forefathers founded this country on.  And in Modern history, we see in just a short century, the ratification of this equality in the equal rights movement.  So we see consciousness growing exponentially.  From my point of view the, next step is Unification, weather as the entire globe, or just in state boundaries.  It seems that it is a part of our very evolution to evolve beyond “survival of the fittest”.  History shows it possible, so instead of getting caught up on a world that seems hopeless, why not believe in the change that is in our blood.  What we believe, is what comes to pass…

  • The times are a changin’

The current struggle - the choice between making way for yourself in this world or to put your efforts towards helping society, community - is an old way of thought.  It is not one or the other but a collaboration of both.  The key to social change is found in the individual.   As you seek out personal change, you will inevitably find your view focusing on the world, seeing that you can not change it with direct action, but only indirectly. In the homes of those who care, secretly, quietly conspiring together for change.  Only the innate innovation of compassionate individuals have the power to shape this world with selfless intentions; even in minority those with this mind have power over the swaying majority.  So when you see the system, the man, the status quo and it irks your every bone!  Know that it will NEVER be changed from the inside, playing by the rules; that it should not just be bent, but broken.  And to break it you must allow your chains to fall, bust your self our of your self made prison.  And when you’ve escaped a new system comes in to view that miraculously exists coherently in all of humanity; it is what describes beauty.  It is not a religion or a government it is the reason these exist, instead of being a man made thing, it comes from what made men.

“Cast your whole vote, not a strip of paper merely, but your whole influence  A minority is powerless while it conforms to the majority… but it is irresistible when it clogs by its whole weight… Let your life be a counter friction to stop the machine”  -  Henry David Thoreau

  • Where are we now?

You know, I’ve seen a lot of news, as most of us have.  I’ve read the headlines of terror, watched in disgust as the people of this country and others have been screwed by governments and economic men of power, and I’ve shook my head at the sex driven, money hungry society that I see all around me.  But now feel the three fingers pointing back at me.  I was talking to a friend the other night, about the state humanity is in, he told me that there was only a very small percentage who look into the world as we do, seeing the bad, and knowing what needs to change - a view that seems to be held by many of those who think about the change that needs to happen in the world, the belief that there are so few of us out there.  Here recently I have began to believe other wise.  I think we are all around, but just so caught up in ourselves.  Caught up in our depressions, in our disbelief, our trek to find our own solutions.  It seems as if we are all recluses in our caves, moving to our comfort drugs, or ancient remedies, another song or poem we write, that feels like clarity.  We all feel so power less, and power less we are, on our own.  And so what will it take for us to come together.  It is so obvious that they’ve got us right where they want us, DIS-UNIFIED.  This thought process of being a strong individual and needing to make way for OURSELVES if we want to progress, is a busted old mold, and evolution is calling for a new one.  And even if only a very small percentage of the world cares to lay down there own personal goals, and sacrifice themselves for what needs to be done, so be it.  You only need a match to burn a forest down.  So if anyone reads this, and feels like putting your mind together with some other minds let me know.

    Keep the Faith.
